I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I SECTION 02513 ASPHALTIC CONCRETE PAVING PART 1 - GENERAL 1.01 SCOPE OF WORK A. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required and place asphaltic concrete pavement in accordance with the grades and typical sections shown on the Drawings and as specified herein. 1.02 RELATED WORK A. Section 02200 - Earthwork. 1.03 SUBMITTALS A. Submit shop drawings as specified in Section 01340. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 MATERIALS A. All Materials shall conform to the requirements of the Florida Department of Transportation Specifications. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 INSTAllATION A. The subgrade preparation shall comply with the requirements of the Florida Department of Transportation Specifications. All soft and yielding material and other portions of the subgrade which will not compact readily shall be removed and replaced with suitable material and the whole subgrade brought to line and grade and to a foundation of uniform compaction and supporting power. B. The top 12 inches of the subgrade, in both cut and fill sections, shall be compacted to a density of not less than 100 percent of the maximum density as determined by the AASHTO Method T-180. If shown on the Drawings, compact subgrade to a Florida Bearing Value of 75 psi. Unless the subgrade material at the time of compacting contains sufficient moisture to permit proper compaction it shall be moistened as necessary and then compacted. Subgfade material containing excess moisture shall be permitted to dry to the proper consistency before being compacted. The subgrade shall be shaped prior to making the density tests. The required density shall be maintained until the base or pavement has been laid or until the aggregate materials for the base or pavement course have been spread in place. C. The minimum compacted thickness of the limerock base shall be 12 inches applied in three layers of equal depth unless otherwise shown on the Drawings. 06/07 02513-1 03-4197
