Furnish all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required to prepare lawn <br />bed and install sodding as shown on contract drawings and as specified herein. <br /> <br />B. Area to receive sodded grass lawns within the landscape limits shown on the <br />drawings except as noted herein shall be as designated on the Drawings. <br /> <br />1.02 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. Provide technical data as specified in Section 01340 for shop drawings on all <br />materials or installation procedures required under this Section. <br /> <br />B. Submit representative topsoil samples for analysis by a private laboratory to <br />determine nutrient deficiencies and outline a proper fertilization program. <br /> <br />C. Submit as provided in Section 01720 certifications required for all sodding <br />supplied. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 SOD <br /> <br />A. Sod shall be St. Augustine Floritam of firm texture having a compacted growth <br />and good root development as approved. <br /> <br />B. Sod shall be certified to meet Florida State Plant Board specifications, absolutely <br />true to varietal type, and free from weeds or other objectionable vegetation, <br />fungus, insects and disease of any kind. <br /> <br />C. Before being cut and lifted, the sod shall have been mowed 3 times with the final <br />mowing not more than a week before cutting into uniform dimensions. <br /> <br />2.02 SOIL CONDITIONERS <br /> <br />A. Fertilizer: <br /> <br />1. Fertilizer shall be a complete fertilizer, the elements of which are derived <br />from organic sources. Fertilizer shall be a standard product complying <br />with State and Federal fertilizer laws. <br />2. Percentages of nitrogen, phosphorus and potash shall be based on <br />laboratory tests on soils outlined in Paragraph 1.028 and approved by the <br />Engineer. For purpose of bidding, assume 6% nitrogen, 6% phosphorus <br />and 6% potash by weight. At least 50% of the total nitrogen shall contain <br />no less than 3% water-insoluble nitrogen. <br /> <br />06/07 <br /> <br />02931-1 <br /> <br />03--4197 <br />
