<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011-~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF <br />A BATTERY BACKUP SYSTEM FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />FROM CDW GOVERNMENT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED <br />FOURTEEN THOUSAND FIFTY DOLLARS ($14,050.00), A TT ACHED <br />HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS <br />RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department's current battery backup system <br />for its network is at its life expectancy and can no longer be expanded to allow for the current <br />power demands of the devices in the server room; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to purchase a battery backup system <br />for the Police Department's network which prevents systems like the Police Department's CAD <br />system, the phones, the phone recording system, etc. from turning off in the event of a power <br />outage or burnout; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CDW Government has available the necessary battery backup system that <br />will provide for over an hour of backup power, and will be able to continue to grow with the <br />Police Department's needs for the next ten (10) years barring unforeseen circumstances; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City determined that COW Government provided the lowest price and <br />best value and wishes to purchase a battery backup system from COW Government, in an <br />amount not to exceed Fourteen Thousand Fifty Dollars ($14,050.00), attached hereto as Exhibit <br />"A", with funding through the Technology Program Grant #201OCKWX0481. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Purchase. The City Commission hereby approves the purchase of a <br />battery backup system for the Police Department from COW Government, in an amount not to <br />exceed Fourteen Thousand Fifty Dollars ($14,050.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
