<br />o <br /> <br />Outlets dispensing non-potable water will be conspicuously posted Caution -water Unfit for <br />Drinking, Washing, or Cooking. There shall not be any cross connection between a system <br />furnishing potable water and a system furnishing non-potable water. <br /> <br />Toilets <br />Where sanitary sewers are not available, chemical toilets will be provided in compliance with <br />local codes. Two chemical toilets will be provided, one for each sex. Each toilet shall be <br />equipped with a toilet seat and toilet seat cover. The facility designated for male use will be <br />equipped with a metal or plastic urinal trough. The facilities shall be constructed so that the <br />occupants shall be protected against weather and falling objects; all cracks shall be sealed and <br />the door shall be tight-fitting, self-closing and latchable. Adequate ventilation shall be provided <br />and all window and vents screened; seat boxes will be vented to the outside (minimum vent size <br />4" diameter) with vent intake located one inch below the seat. The interior of the facility shall be <br />lighted. Provisions for routinely servicing and cleaning all toilets and disposing of the sewage <br />shall be established before placing toilet facilities into operation. The method of sewage disposal <br />and location selected shall be in accordance with Federal, State, and local health regulations <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Waste Disposal <br />Receptacles used for putrescible or dangerous waste material shall be so constructed to prevent <br />leakage and to allow thorough cleaning and sanitary maintenance. The receptacles will be <br />maintained in a sanitary condition without the aid of a cover. The solid and liquid waste will be <br />removed of in a manner as to avoid creating a menace to health and often as necessary to <br />maintain a sanitary environment. <br /> <br />Housekeeping <br />Working areas will be cleaned up daily. The contractor will provide all personnel and equipment <br />to ensure compliance with all housekeeping requirements. The contractor will inspect the work <br />area daily and record all findings on a daily inspection report to ensure the facility is in <br />compliance. In the location of temporary buildings and yard storage, appropriate care shall be <br />taken for proper separation to preclude an accumulation of fire potential. The contractor is <br />responsible for maintaining the entire area, but particularly storage areas, free from accumulation <br />of unnecessary combustible materials <br /> <br />Medical and First Aid Requirements <br />Prior to start of work, arrangements shall be made for medical facilities and personnel to provide <br />prompt attention to the injured and for consultation on occupational safety and health matters. <br />Communication and transportation to effectively care for injured workers shall be provided. <br /> <br />Employees on each shift shall be instructed to administer First Aid and CPR. No employees <br />shall be required to work alone in remote areas. <br />First Aid kits shall contain at minimum sixteen unit-type first aid packages. First Aid kits <br />comply with 2308.1 constructed or weather proof containers, easily accessible to all workers, <br />and each item therein maintained sterile. <br /> <br />() <br /> <br />The contents of First Aid kits shall be checked prior to utilization and weekly when work is <br />progress to insure that expended items are replaced. <br /> <br />49 <br />
