<br />SECTION 02910 <br />EXISTING TREE RELOCATION <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS <br /> <br />A. Drawings and provIsions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary <br />Conditions and Division-1 Specification sections, apply to Work of this section. Related <br />sections containing requirements affecting the Work of this section include, but are not <br />limited to the following: <br /> <br />A. Irrigation System - Section 02810 <br />B. Landscape - Section 02900 <br /> <br />1.02 REFERENCES <br /> <br />A. Comply with applicable requirements of the following standards and references. In case <br />of conflict with other specified requirements, the most stringent requirements shall <br />govern. <br /> <br />1. Florida Department of Agriculture: Grades and Standards for Nursery Plants Part <br />II - Palms and Trees (latest edition). <br />2. American National Standards Institute (ANSI): Z60.1 - American Standards for <br />Nursery Stock. <br />3. National Arborist Association (NAA): Ref. 1 -Transplanting of Trees and Shrubs <br />in the Northeastern and North Central United States. <br />4. State of Florida Division of Forestry: Tree Protection Manual for Builders and <br />Developers (latest edition). <br /> <br />1.03 DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />A. Tree relocation of all existing trees will occur within the project boundaries. All areas <br />where relocated trees are to be planted are directly accessible to tree planting <br />equipment. Coordinate tree relocation with Consultant. <br /> <br />B. Relocation will be as shown on plans. <br /> <br />C. The Contractor will be responsible for backfilling of planting pits. <br /> <br />D. Remove other existing trees, shrubs, vines and undergrowth as specified or as indicated <br />on plans, or as directed by the Consultant, to accommodate new plantings. <br /> <br />1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> <br />A. Contractor to be qualified in tree and palm relocation, in conformance with all state and <br />local regulations and requirements for permitting. Contractor to provide (3) references, <br />documenting similar Work satisfactorily performed, upon request of Consultant. <br /> <br />B. Contractor to exercise care and caution with relocation operations, and provide root <br />pruning in advance of relocation.
