With West
Construction's heavy emphasis of work consisting in the public sector, along with much of that being
public parks, our team has the experience of working with local governments to bring projects in within
budget and complying with diversified aesthetic expectations. Additionally, since working nationwide,
Team Pain's experience takes into account diverse soil conditions, water tables and drainage issues to
address solutions with methods to resolve them. As a skate park specialist based in Florida, the region's
low water tables have made us aware of the effects that concrete surfaces play on the environment.
Our team has worked closely with water management districts to ensure that parks (both traditional and
skateboard) are designed using it's natural site grades and elevations to incorporate natural drainage
and run-off systems as well as utilizing imported fill in replace of retaining walls for environmental protec-
tion.

80% of Team Pain's projects have included public participation and thier experience with local skating
communities is an important step that has provided the client with a clearer understanding of the skate
park lifestyle and the important role the city plays in providing a well designed and built skate park for
their community. Having this experience allows local skaters to intimately associate with Team Pain and
engages them in the public process, while thier professional experience has allowed us to answer any
questions or concerns the community and client may have.

Our experience has involved utilizing local contractors and the city's public works departments to pre-
pare the site for the skate park as well as finalizing any amenities involved in a project to allows us to
concentrate on the specialized nature of the skate park work. We work off typical cross-sections to en-
sure structural integrity of the skate park and implement the inspection and testing process, providing
security and certainty to the client. Our skate parks are designed and built with a method that utilizes
typical construction of the skate slabs and is implemented into the site by the local engineer. This
method further employs a process that allows our crew to maximize and enhance the skate environment
on site, while staying within budget and the original concept to ensure a quality skate park. We also im-
plement various materials, applications and mediums to allow for a cohesive design and compatible aes-
thetics to the city's overall vision including the use of our own customized skateArt.

From traditional parks and large destination skate parks to small community skate parks, the West Con-
struction Team's experience and collaborations has allowed the company to develop relations with many
municipalities across the country. To date, Team Pain has completed 18 custom concrete municipal
skate park facilities in the State of Florida alone.

Professional Design and Build Services for a
Skateboard Park at Town Center Park
City of Sunny Isles Beach

RFP No. 09-11-01

Section 2 I Experience
