Marlin Engineering was the company
hired to have the plans completed. In June of 2010 the City terminated the contract with
Marlin Engineering for the pier and restaurant. At the time the structural plans for the
pier and restaurant were completed, however the civil engineering portion of the plans
that pertain to the restaurant were not prepared by Marlin Engineering.

Since June of 2010, Calvin Giordano and Associates (CGA) have been working with the
City to obtain the required permits from the Federal, State and local agencies in order to
construct the pier and restaurant. Due to the urgency of expediting the preparation of the
civil engineering plans and their familiarity with the project, staff selected CGA from the
City's rotation list of engineering firms. CGA has submitted a proposal for the
preparation of the civil engineering plans in an amount not to exceed $33,090.75.

ATTACHMENTS:
. Resolution
.
