RESOLUTION NO. 2011 - r -,58 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING BID NO. 11-07-03 <br />TO THE BG GROUP, LLC FOR PROFESSIONAL DEMOLITION <br />SERVICES FOR MULTIPLE CITY PROPERTIES; APPROVING AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE BG GROUP, LLC FOR DEMOLITION <br />SERVICES AT 16050 AND 16100 COLLINS AVENUE, IN AN <br />AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-THREE THOUSAND NINE <br />HUNDRED SIXTEEN DOLLARS ($53,916.00), AND CONTINGENCY <br />SERVICES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED NINETY-FIVE <br />THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS ($95,520.00), <br />ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on July 8, 2011 the City issued and advertised Request for Proposals (RFP) No. <br />11-07-03, for Professional Demolition Services for Multiple City Properties, for which three (3) <br />responses were received; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff has determined that the bid response from The BG Group, LLC is the <br />lowest responsible and responsive bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City staff have recommended the bid award, based on a careful review of the <br />line items and consideration for the Contractor's reputation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The BG Group has expressed its ability and desire to provide these services; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into an Agreement with The BG Group, LLC <br />("Contractor") for professional demolition services for two (2) properties located at 16050 and 16100 <br />Collins A venue, in an amount not to exceed Fifty-Three Thousand Nine Hundred Sixteen Dollars <br />($53,916.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City may, at its sole discretion, enter into negotiations with the Contractor to <br />provide all labor, materials and equipment to demolish and remove the existing structures, including <br />footings, foundation, asphalt pavement, and trees, located at 215 and 151 Sunny Isles Boulevard, (the <br />"Contingency Services"), at the following rates: $46,000.00 for 215 Sunny Isles Boulevard and <br />$49,520.00 for 151 Sunny Isles Boulevard, in a total amount not to exceed Ninety-Five Thousand <br />Five Hundred Twenty Dollars ($95,520.00), if the City fails to procure the services of another <br />contractor pursuant to court approved settlement agreement. However, in the event such negotiations <br />are unsuccessful, then the City may enter into subsequent negotiations with the other bidders who bid <br />on RFP No. 11-07-03 to provide demolition services for the properties located at 215 and 151 Sunny <br />Isles Boulevard. <br /> <br />R20 11- BG Group Demolition City Properties (RFP 11-07-01) <br /> <br />Page 1 of2 <br />
