<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011- J1 ~ ~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING <br />A CONTRIBUTION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED <br />ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) TO SPONSOR AN <br />EVENT ON SEPTEMBER 21, 2011 TO OFFICIALLY <br />DEDICATE THE COMMUNITY SCHOOL AS THE <br />NORMAN S. EDELCUP / SUNNY ISLES BEACH K-8; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL <br />THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS <br />RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has a tradition of participating and assisting <br />in various programs of interest and benefit to its residents and visitors; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach K-8 Community School was officially renamed in <br />honor of Sunny Isles Beach Mayor Norman S. Edelcup; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the School will host a Renaming Ceremony on Wednesday, September 21, <br />2011 to officially dedicate the School as the Norman S. Edelcup / Sunny Isles Beach K-8; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to sponsor the Event on Wednesday, <br />September 21, 2011 to officially dedicate the School, by contributing up to One Thousand <br />Dollars ($1,000.00). <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Contribution. The City Commission hereby approves a contribution <br />of up to One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) to host an Event on Wednesday, September 21,2011 <br />to officially dedicate the School as the Norman S. Edelcup / Sunny Isles Beach K-8. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
