FAX: (305) 861-1302 WWW.TOWNOFSURFSJDEFL.GOV MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE Goals of Linking the Local Shuttle Bus Programs In order for individuals to have the opportunity to visit assets from different municipalities, the City of Sunny Isles Beach and the Town of Surfside will be connecting at certain points at different times throughout the day. This demonstration project is a collaborative effort among the municipalities striving to establish and maintain a more efficient regional Shuttle Bus system for residents of Northeast Miami- Dade County. The demonstration project includes the creation of a Regional Local Shuttle Bus System in which individuals may ride and transfer to anyone of the City of Sunny Isles Beach or Town of Surfside's local Shuttle Bus designated points and times. Specifics of the Agreement The City of Sunny Isles Beach and the Town of Surfside are committed to working collaboratively together to expand the Regional Local Shuttle Bus Program in the Miami-Dade Northeast Area in which the City of Sunny Isles Beach is already party to with the City of Aventura and the City of North Miami Beach. Consistent with this understanding, the City of Sunny Isles Beach and the Town of Surfside agree to: 1. Designate a staff member who will serve as the Program liaison. 2. Provide and maintain a reliable shuttle service. 3. Work collaboratively to develop a schedule that enhances both Communities' service including expanded service to outlying communities such as Aventura and Miami Beach. 4. Promote this enhanced service to their respective communities. 5. Efficiently and effectively communicate to designated Program Liaison any service outages to minimize customer dissatisfaction. 6. Provide exceptional customer service to passengers of both Communities. 7. This agreement shall commence ninety (30) days from execution by both parties of this Agreement (the "Commencement Date"). This Agreement shall be for a term of one (I) year from Commencement Date, unless terminated sooner pursuant to paragraph 8 of this Agreement. At the conclusion of nine (9) months from the Commencement date both parties shall meet to discuss an extension. Any changes in fees, terms, or conditions shall be accomplished by written amendment to this Agreement with approval by both parties. Any renewal of this agreement shall be in writing and executed by both parties.
