<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting September 8, 2005 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />7B. An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Amending <br />Section 193-1 of the Code of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Relating to the Permissible <br />Hours of Operation of Power Tools, Construction and Landscaping Equipment; <br />Providing for Enforcement and Penalties; Repealing Conflicting Provisions; Providing for <br />Severability; Providing for Inclusion into the Code; and Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Robert Solera, Assistant Administrator, Building <br />and Code Enforcement & Licensing Dept. reported. City Attorney Ottinot said that this <br />Ordinance has been revised deleting "and religious holidays" on page 2 section 1 d. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: George Berlin <br /> <br />George Berlin, representing Turnberry, asked the Commission to extend the hours to 6:00 <br />p.m. Mr. Solera said presently the hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, <br />and 9:00 a.m. to 5 :00 p.m. on Saturdays, but noted that the ordinance provides that the City <br />Manager or designee may extend the hours if need be by approval within a week. After <br />discussion it was the consensus of the Commission to leave the hours as is. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Thaler moved and Commissioner Brezin seconded a motion to approve the <br />proposed ordinance on first reading as amended (deleting "and religious holidays"). <br />The motion was approved by a roll call vote of 5-0 in favor.
