<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting <br /> <br />July 14,2005 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />Lisa Maldonado said that she has through a link in the City's website to Miami-Dade.gov <br />which sends us to the website for sexual offenders and predators, where you type in your <br />address and find out within certain radius what offenders are living in your area and she has <br />children that will start camp in Sunny Isles Beach on Monday, and noted that there are sexual <br />offenders within walking distance of the camp and so she requested that next year the City <br />considers moving the camp to another location. Mayor Ede1cup noted that any sexual <br />offenders that currently live in the City are grandfathered in under the law and we can't do <br />anything about their locations. He said that the first line of defense is at the parent level to <br />keep their children informed and to know where their children are. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brezin moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve the <br />proposal on first reading.
