Addendum No.4

CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH
Design and Construction of Canopy Structures at Heritage Park and
Golden Shores Park
CITY RFP NO. 11-10-01

To All Bidders:

Bidders for the above-referenced project shall take note of the following changes,
additions, deletions, clarifications, etc. to the Plans and Specifications, which in
accordance with the Contract Documents shall become a part of and have precedence
over anything shown or described otherwise.

)0> Request for Clarification:

o The drawings show 2 playgrounds. Is the City looking for 2
structures to cover the entire 2 areas?
This is a proposal process. The vendor should propose a system
that they believe will be more effective and efficient for the
application.

o Does the City have a minimum size requirement for each of the
structures or should this simply be to cover the entire or a given
percentage of each playground?
No. The intent is to provide shade to the play area. It is understood
that because of the height of some of the playground equipment and
the light poles that some angles will not be completely covered from
sunlight.

o Are the playgrounds existing?
Yes.

o It looks like large areas. Can we use multiple structures to cover
each playground? This is often better use of material and space and
allows for better looking designs.
At the vendor's discretion. However, the City does desire a less
invasive approach. Each playground equipment has its own safety
area that needs to be considered. This safety area cannot have any
elements of the canopy structure. Also, consideration must be taken
for the existing lighting to remain. The City is interested in an
attractive design.
Friday, October 28,201 ]
