-

~__n Kimley.Horn
~ U and Associates, Inc.

April 25, 20 I 0

Mr. Jorge Vera
Acting City Manager
City of Sunny Isles Beach
18070 Collins Avenue
Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160

Re: Collins Avenue / 183rd Street Driveway Modification Analysis;
Sunny Isles Beach, Florida

Dear Mr. Vera:

Kimley-Hom and Associates, Inc. is pleased to submit this driveway
modification analysis associated with the intersection of Collins Avenue and
l83rd Street. The City is considering removing access to ingress vehicles at the
existing driveway on 183rd Street, directly west of Collins Avenue, and adding a
right-in/right-out driveway on Collins Avenue, directly south of l83rd Street.

Based on the analysis, the intersection of Collins Avenue and 183rd Street will
operate at the existing level of service, or better, with the driveway modification
on 183rd Street. Following is a discussion on our analysis and conclusions.

Background Information

It is our understanding that the City is considering modifying the existing
driveway on 183rd Street, directly west of Collins Avenue, to only allow egress
vehicles. A right-in/right-out driveway would be constructed on Collins Avenue,
directly south of 183rd Street to accommodate ingress vehicles that would
previously use the driveway on 183rd Street.

Existing and future level of service were analyzed at the intersection of Collins
Avenue and 183rd Street. Figure I provides the location of the study
intersection.

.
Suile 200
1920 Wekiva Way
West Palm Beach. Florida
33411
