<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011- I ~"h \_ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE PURCHASE <br />OF A 2011 FORD F550 BUCKET TRUCK FROM AL TEC <br />INDUSTRIES, INC. PURSUANT TO NATIONAL JOINT POWERS <br />ALLIANCE (NJPA) CONTRACT NO. 060311, IN AN AMOUNT <br />NOT TO EXCEED EIGHTY-TWO THOUSAND EIGHTEEN <br />DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS ($82,018.50), ATTACHED <br />HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is desirous of maintaining the beauty of the City through <br />specialized projects requiring the use of a large-capacity bucket truck; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City's 2008 City Ford F550 Bucket Truck sustained significant damage <br />due to an accident and cannot be used for its intended purpose; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City Staff determined that due to the costs associated with the truck repairs <br />and downtime, that the purchase of a new truck to be placed into service in December 2011 is in <br />the best interest of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Altec Industries, Inc. (" Altec "), a leading provider of top of the line bucket <br />trucks, has advised that they have a contract under National Joint Powers Alliance (NJP A) <br />Contract No. 060311; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 62-13 of the City Code states that purchases made under <br />competitive bids with other governmental agencies, state general service administration contracts, <br />or federal, county or other governmental contracts are exempt from the bidding requirement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Altec has submitted a proposal for a 2011 Ford F550 Bucket Truck, in an <br />amount not to exceed Eighty-Two Thousand Eighteen Dollars and Fifty Cents ($82,018.50), <br />attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Ratify Approval of Purchase. The City Commission hereby ratifies the purchase of <br />a Bucket Truck, in an amount not to exceed Eighty-Two Thousand Eighteen Dollars and Fifty <br />Cents ($82,018.50), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager.
