Smith & Associates, Inc. (CAS) is pleased to submit this proposal in <br />response to your Request for Qualifications for Civil Engineering Services to Design Street and Drainage <br />Improvements along 174th Street. CAS is a local South Florida Consulting Engineering, Surveying and <br />utility Locating firm that has been in business for over thirty '(30) years in South Florida with Corporate <br />Headquarters located in Boca Raton. CAS, a client oriented firm, is capable of providing the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach (City) with the specialized, professional services and expertise in Stormwater <br />Infrastructure and Roadway Improvements Design and Construction as specified in the RFQ.' CAS <br />specializes in the design, mapping, permitting and construction of all types of underground stormwater <br />piping, stormwater conveyance and treatment. CAS provides this similar service to your neighboring <br />communities of Bal Harbour Village and the Town of Golden Beach. <br /> <br />In addition to those services, CAS brings unique and exclusive Three Dimensional Radar <br />Tomography (3D) underground mapping and utility locates capability that can save the City time <br />and money during the design and construction of this project. This capability will allow the City to <br />avoid costly mistakes, utility conflicts and disruptions to City residents, common to these types of <br />projects, as the stormwater pipeline and improvements project get under construction. This technology <br />will minimize disruption to businesses in the area. Our 3D technology also ensures CAS's commitment <br />and ability to complete all projects on time and within budget without conflicts. CAS has all the <br />specialized staff in-house to assist the City with the complete stormwater project in your RFQ. <br /> <br />CAS is the only licensed provider of 3D technology through our wholly owned company MPS3D. With <br />this technology, MPS3D has successfully provided these services for the White House Lawn in <br />Washington D.C., Interstate 595 for FOOT and has successfully completed projects for NASA, THE U.S. <br />Military and many other clients. MPS3D does more than locate underground utilities. Through bur 3D <br />technology we can differentiate between metallic and non-metallic pipes, as well as identify other <br />anomalies which may conflict with proposed construction activities, a capability unique to MPS3D/CAS. <br />CAS has the specialized expertise to generate accurate above ground and below ground base maps for <br />design of pipelines in a very timely and cost effective manner. This capability brings Value Added Radar <br />Scanning providing project accuracy and limiting the City's liability during construction of the <br />stormwater system. <br /> <br />CAS is a Civil Engineering, Surveying, Utility Locating, Construction Management and Grant <br />Specialist firm with over forty (40) local dedicated members of staff including seven (6) Registered <br />Professional Engineers, three (3) Engineering Interns, two (2) Registered Professional Surveyors, four (4) <br />Construction Managers and two (2) Grant Specialists, The balance of staff includes technical CADD <br />drafting personnel, certified field inspectors, utility locators, as well as competent administrative, clerical <br />and accounting personnel. Our professional staff is long tenured with the firm.
