<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012- -1 t8SD <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASE OF NINE (9) VEHICLES AND ASSOCIATED <br />EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEP ARTMENT, IN AN <br />AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED TWENTY- <br />FOUR THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED SIXTEEN DOLLARS AND <br />EIGHTY-FIVE CENTS ($324,416.85), ATTACHED HERETO AS <br />EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO <br />ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS <br />RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department rotates a portion of the Police <br />fleet annually to assure the safety and reliability of its equipment to its officers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department now needs to purchase the following nine (9) <br />vehicles from Maroone Chrysler Dodge of Pembroke Pines under the Florida Sheriff s <br />Association's Contract Bid # 11-19-0907: eight (8) 2012 Dodge Charger Police Vehicles, one (1) <br />2012 Dodge Durango A WD Police Vehicle, and all associated equipment, in an amount not to <br />exceed Three Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand Four Hundred Sixteen Dollars and Eighty-Five <br />Cents ($324,416.85), attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the associated equipment will be purchased from various vendors as a result <br />of a competitive bid process and/or a piggyback contract; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff determined that the above charges were reasonable and customary for <br />said purchase and recommends that the Commission approve the purchase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funding for eight (8) of the above vehicles and associated equipment were <br />budgeted and are available under General Fund, Capital Expenditures totaling $284,831.60, and <br />one (1) vehicle and associated equipment will be purchased with Department of Justice Forfeiture <br />Funds totaling $39,585.25. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorizing the Purchase of Vehicles. The City Commission hereby authorizes <br />the purchase of nine (9) vehicles and associated equipment, in an amount not to exceed Three <br />Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand Four Hundred Sixteen Dollars and Eighty-Five Cents <br />($324,416.85), Attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
