RESOLUTION NO. 2012- t ~7(' <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING <br />A CHANGE IN THE PERSONNEL POLICY REGARDING <br />TUITION REIMBURSEMENT, ATTACHED HERETO AS <br />EXHIBIT "A"j AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE <br />TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Personnel Policy Manual provides guidance <br />on procedures, benefits, and the general operation of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Manual is a living document that is subject to change on an as-needed <br />basis; and <br /> <br />-r------ - <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has been supportive of its employees pursuing training and other <br />educational oRPortunities designed to maintain or increase knowledge, skills, and/or abilities; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as our employees move up the academic ladder, the cost of seeking <br />advanced degrees also greatly increases; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the amended Tuition Reimbursement Policy, allows for a higher initial <br />reimbursement level of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) for employees seeking a Master's <br />degree or higher; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission now desires to amend the Tuition Reimbursement <br />Policy, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of the Personnel Policy Manual. The City Commission hereby approves <br />the amended Tuition Reimbursement Policy, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate the terms of this resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
