<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012- 1~~9 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASE OF SIX (6) VEHICLES AND ASSOCIATED <br />EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, IN AN <br />AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE <br />THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED NINE DOLLARS AND SEVENTY- <br />FIVE CENTS ($221,609.75), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT <br />"A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL <br />THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department rotates a portion of the Police <br />fleet annually to assure the safety and reliability of its equipment to its officers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department now needs to purchase the following six (6) vehicles <br />from Maroone Chrysler Dodge of Pembroke Pines (3 Dodge Chargers and 2 Dodge Durangos) <br />and from Bartow Chevrolet (I Chevy Impala) under the Florida Sheriffs Association's Contract <br />Bid # 11-19-0907, and all associated equipment, in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred <br />Twenty-One Thousand Six Hundred Nine Dollars and Seventy-Five Cents ($221,609.75), <br />attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the associated equipment will be purchased from various vendors as a result <br />of a competitive bid process and/or a piggyback contract; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff determined that the above charges were reasonable and customary for <br />said purchase and recommends that the Commission approve the purchase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funding for six (6) of the above vehicles and associated equipment will be <br />purchased with funds from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Forfeiture Funds as non <br />budgeted items and part of the City Manager's Reorganizational Plan, totaling $221,609.75. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section I. Authorizing the Purchase of Vehicles. The City Commission hereby authorizes <br />the purchase of six (6) vehicles and associatcd equipment, in an amount not to exceed Two <br />Hundred Twenty-One Thousand Six Hundred Nine Dollars and Seventy-Five Cents <br />($221,609.75), Attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of Citv Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
