<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012-lB.9:D <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATYIFYING <br />AUTHORIZATION FOR THE MAYOR TO APPLY FOR, <br />RECEIVE, AND EXPEND GRANT FUNDS FROM THE MIAMI- <br />DADE COUNTY, FEDERAL FUNDS, EDWARD BYRNE <br />MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG) PROGRAM <br />_ AMERICAN RECOVERY & REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009, <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF ELEVEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED <br />SIXTY-FOUR DOLLARS ($11,364.00); AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County has been awarded federal funds from the Edward Byrne <br />Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program - American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of <br />2009; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Funds, Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) <br />Program is administered through the Miami-Dade County Department of Human Services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has been given preliminary approval <br />for a portion of said grant funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these funds will be used to purchase technology development and integration <br />services to allow the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department Records Management System to <br />work with the Miami Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police (MDCACP) Countywide <br />Prisoner Processing Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the preliminarily approved grant funding is in a total amount of Eleven <br />Thousand Three Hundred Sixty-Four Dollars ($11,364.00) (no cash match is required); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to authorize staff to apply for, receive, and expend said grant <br />funding for the purposes mentioned above, in the telms and conditions as outlined in the Byrne Grant <br />application, attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section]. Ratifving Authoritv to Mavor. Authorization for the Mayor to apply for, receive, and <br />expend grant funds from the Miami-Dade County Federal Drug Control & System Improvement <br />Program (Byrne/JAG Grant FY 2012/2013), in the amount of Eleven Thousand Three Hundred <br />Sixty-Four Dollars ($] 1,364.00), is hereby ratified. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Authorization of Citv Manager.
