RESOLUTION NO. 2012- IRq I A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF AIR CARDS FROM VERlZON WIRELESS TO PROVIDE WIRELESS BROADBAND ACCESS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($35,000.00) ANNUALLY, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has found Verizon Wireless to be the most suitable for the needs of the Police Department in wireless broadband access; and WHEREAS, Verizon Wireless provides wireless broadband access for data connectivity between the Sunny Isles Beach Police Communications Center, Records Unit and the Police vehicles; and WHEREAS, Verizon Wireless has submitted a proposal under the State of Florida Contract #MA4974 to provide for the purchase of a monthly subscription for up to sixty-nine (69) Sierra Wireless AC595 Air Cards at a total cost not to exceed Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00) atillually, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Purchase. The purchase of sixty-nine (69) Sierra Wireless AC595 Air Cards and a monthly subscription for connectivity of 69 mobile terminals from Verizon Wireless, at a total cost not to exceed Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00) annually, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", is hereby approved. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
