This does not alter the at-will employment policy <br />of the City. <br /> <br />4) Department Heads may recommend the termination of a newly hired or <br />transferred employee at any time. A recommendation for termination should <br />be submitted in writing through the Director of Organizational <br />Development/Human Resources to the City Manager, or appointing authority <br />with a copy to the City Manager, for review and should include an evaluation <br />and a list of actions, if any, taken to assist the employee. New hires <br />terminated prior to completion of six months employment are not eligible for <br />severance pay. <br /> <br />5) The introductory/probationary period will be extended by the number of <br />workdays missed because of an approved leave of absence. The City <br />Manager or his/her designee may extend the introductory/probationary period <br />of any employee if he/she deems it appropriate to do so. <br /> <br />6) At the discretion of management, transferred or promoted employees who are <br />unable to perform satisfactorily in their new jobs may be returned to their <br />original jobs, if a vacancy exists, or may be terminated. <br /> <br />7) At all times, including after successful completion of the <br />introductory/probationary period, employment with the City is considered to <br />be "at-will," and the employment relationship may be terminated at any time <br />for any reason by either party. <br /> <br />210_1 introductory period <br /> <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
