Promoting a sense of cohesion and unity throughout the several park sites;
. Promoting a safe connection across all driveways;
. Verifying and supplementing any necessary survey data required to design the parks;
. Conducting structural analyses of the existing seawalls to assess their load-bearing capacities
and/or any required upgrades for the installation of the requested wall and fencing;
. Providing a passive park design;
. Specifying and detailing the future children's playground;
. Ensuring that ADA access is always provided to all facilities;
. Detailing the inclusion of possible infrastructure, such as conduits alongside or sleeving at intervals
beneath the trails to facilitate for any future provisions of new services such as pedestrian lighting;
. Designing park signage and potential interpretive sign age; and
. Locating and detailing any furnishings and/or exercise equipment throughout the park.

Meetings (three) include: Project Award Meeting, City Review and Approval of Scope and Time, and Project
Kick-off Meeting). The CGA Team will meet with City Staff and respond to directives provided on the vision
and goals anticipated for the project as a means for developing a design solution that meets the City's
timetable and allocated budgets.

Task 2 - Schematic Design and 30% Plans
Based on the design parameters established in Task 1, the CGA team will develop a design for the park and
use-components identified in the project parameters, including layout of pedestrian walking paths,
lighting, landscape enhancements, wayfinding signage and interpretive markers, furnishings and vita-
course elements, pavilions and shelters.
2.1 Existing and Demolition Plans (Scale: 1"=20'-0")
The CGA Team will prepare an existing plans defining the project area and identifying any existing
elements that need to be demolished or removed, as well as the protective areas around all existing
vegetations to ensure there is not root damage.
2.2 Schematic Walkways and Facilities Layout
Based upon initial City Staff input, the CGA Team will prepare a Schematic Layout that locates all
planned improvements. CGA will present the preliminary layout to City Staff and receive direction
on preferred modifications to form the basis of design for the 30% plans.
2.3 30% Construction Documents
In this task CGA will refine the schematic design for all elements to reflect review comments and
prepare and present 30% construction plans for all planned features as described below:

Site Plan Layout and Geometry Plan (Scale: 1"=20'-0")
Using the Schematic Walkways and Facilities Layout as a basis, the CGA team will prepare a Site
Plan for the park with aesthetic improvements, seawall construction/reinforcement strategies, and
ADA access crosswalk requirements to ensure safety and minimize liability conflicts across
driveways. The Team will prepare typical construction details to address chosen materials and

RFQ 12-04-04 Sunny Isles Beach Intracoastal Parks

4-1
