Summary Minutes: Special City Commission Meeting January 21, 2010 City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br />10. RESOLUTIONS <br />10A. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Authorizing <br />the City Manager to Enter into a Parking License Agreement with Avila North <br />Condominium Association, Inc. for Parking Spaces Within the Municipal Parking Lot <br />Located at the Northeast Corner of 175 Terrace, in Substantially the Same Form as <br />Exhibit "A ", Attached Hereto; Authorizing the City Manager and City Attorney to Do All <br />Things Necessary to Effectuate the Terms of this Agreement; Providing for an Effective <br />Date. <br />Action: [City Clerk's Note: Heard after Item IOK See action under Item 4A.] City Clerk <br />Hines read the title, and City Attorney Ottinot reported noting that the terms in the agreement <br />are not final as the attorney for Avila North has not gotten back to him yet, and therefore this <br />Resolution approves it in substantially the same form. <br />Public Speakers: none <br />Mayor Edelcup suggested that a sunset clause be inserted into the Resolution that if nothing <br />is done within the next 60 days and /or if there are any substantial changes, then the City <br />Manager's authority is voided and it will come back to Commission for approval. <br />Vice Mayor Thaler moved and Commissioner Goodman seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution, as amended. Resolution No. 2010 -1505 was adopted by a voice vote of 5 -0 in <br />favor. <br />10B. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br />a Publishing Agreement with Stern/Bloom Media to Produce Two (2) Editions of the <br />Sunny Isles Beach City Guide, in an Amount Not to Exceed $25,000.00, Attached Hereto <br />as Exhibit "A "; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City <br />Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an <br />Effective Date. <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Administrative Services Director Alyce Hanson <br />reported noting that the guide also includes Hurricane Preparedness information, and it is <br />used to promote the City at various events. <br />Public Speakers: none <br />Vice Mayor Thaler moved and Commissioner Brezin seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2010 -1506 was adopted by a voice vote of 5 -0 in favor. <br />10C. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br />an Agreement with Offshore Events, LLC, for Off -Shore Powerboat Races in Sunny <br />Isles Beach Scheduled June 10 -13, 2010, in an Amount Not to Exceed $40,000.00, in <br />Substantially the Same Form as Exhibit "A ", Attached Hereto; Authorizing the Mayor to <br />Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City Attorney and City Manager to Do All Things <br />Necessary to Effectuate the Terms of the Agreement; Providing for an Effective Date. <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Cultural and Human Resources Director Susan <br />Simpson reported noting that the City's commitment is $40,000 (in three payments) as well <br />4 <br />
