WAIVING ALL BIDDING REQUIRMENTS OF ORDINANCE NO. 97 -10; FURTHER <br />DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO RETURN TO THE CITY COMMISSION A <br />CONTRACT ON THIS MATTER FOR COMMISSION APPROVAL AND TO TAKE <br />ALL SUCH FURTHER ACTION NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE INTENT OF <br />THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />ACTION. City Clerk Brown - Morilla read the title, and Community Planning and <br />Development Director Marla Dumas introduced the item, saying that she and the consultants <br />would make every effort to continue with the Citizens Planning Advisory Committee and <br />keep to the original schedule for the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan. <br />Public Speakers: none <br />Vice Mayor Morrow moved and Commissioner Kauffman seconded a motion to approve <br />the proposal. Resolution No. 2000 -198 was adopted by a voice vote of 5 -0 in favor. <br />10. DISCUSSION ITEMS: <br />10A. POTENTIAL BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTORY FOR <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH. <br />ACTION. City Clerk Brown - Morilla read the title, and Mayor Samson proposed that the <br />City endorse the idea of having a business directory developed as had been done in Aventura <br />and other areas. <br />Vice Mayor Morrow moved and Commissioner Iglesias seconded a motion to support the <br />proposed concept, with no financial obligation for the City. The motion was approved <br />by a voice vote of 5 -0 in favor. <br />11. ADJOURNMENT: <br />Commissioner Kauffman moved and Commissioner Iglesias seconded a motion to adjourn <br />the meeting at 7:49 pm.
