ORDINANCE NO. 2012-a? <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 22 OF <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />BEACH ENTITLED "DEPARTMENTS "; PROVIDING FOR THE <br />RENAMING AND INTEGRATION OF CERTAIN CITY <br />DEPARTMENTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; <br />PROVIDING FOR REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN <br />THE CODE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Chapter 22 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach for the purpose of systematically and efficiently administering the operations of the City <br />of Sunny Isles Beach; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff recently presented an updated reorganization plan to the City Commission <br />at a workshop held on January 26, 2012, with specific recommendations to improve operation efficiency, <br />provide higher levels of services where needed, and free up strategic time for leadership; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission subsequently approved the City's reorganizational plan at the <br />City Commission meeting held on February 16, 2012; and <br />WHEREAS, this approved reorganization plan includes the renaming and integration of certain <br />City departments to accomplish the aforementioned objectives. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Chapter 22 -1 is hereby amended as follows: <br />For the purpose of systematically and efficiently administering the operations of the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach, the following departments of government within the City are hereby <br />established: <br />1. Office of the City Manager <br />2. Finanee Bepar4n3e Department of Finance <br />3. Office of the City Attorney <br />4.
