RESOLUTION NO. 2012 - 19 SI- , <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE DONATION <br /> OF THE "TURKISH RED MARBLE STATUE" FROM JACK AND <br /> OFRI COHEN TO BE PLACED IN GATEWAY PARK IN MEMORY <br /> OF THEIR SON EIDO COHEN; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br /> MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE <br /> THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is in the process of constructing Gateway <br /> Park located on Sunny Isles Boulevard; and <br /> WHEREAS, Jack and Ofri Cohen wish to donate to the City the "Turkish Red Marble <br /> Statue" valued at $32,000.00, for placement in the Gateway Park in memory of their son Eido <br /> Cohen who passed away on July 25, 2012; and <br /> WHEREAS, the statue is 50" x 31" x 80" and is a composition of three women <br /> triangularly backing each other and depicting the three states where people find themselves in the <br /> human social fabric; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City exercises its authority to accept donations as a non-profit <br /> municipal corporation. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br /> Section 1. Accepting the Donation. The City Commission hereby accepts the donation of <br /> the "Turkish Red Marble Statue" from Jack and Ofri Cohen to be placed in Gateway Park in <br /> memory of their son Eido Cohen. <br /> Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br /> things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br /> adoption. <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of August 2012. <br /> orman S.
