SECTION 01600 <br /> MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT <br /> • <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1.01 REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE <br /> A. Material and equipment incorporated into the Work: <br /> 1. Conform to applicable specifications and standards. <br /> 2. Comply with size, make, type and qualify specified, or as specifically <br /> approved in writing by the Engineer. <br /> 3. Manufactured and Fabricated Products: <br /> a. Design, fabricate and assemble in accord with the best <br /> engineering and shop practices. <br /> b. Manufacture like part of duplicate units to standard sizes and <br /> gauges, to be interchangeable. <br /> c. Two or more items of the same kind shall be identical, by the same <br /> manufacturer. <br /> d. Products shall be suitable for service conditions. <br /> e. Equipment capacities, sizes and dimensions shown or specified shall <br /> be adhered to unless variations are specifically approved in <br /> writing. <br /> 4. Do not use material or equipment for any purpose other than that for which it <br /> is designed or is specified. <br /> 1.02 RELATED REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. Section 01010: Summary of Work <br /> B. Section 01340: Shop Drawings, Working Drawings and Samples <br /> C. Section 01740: Warranties and Bonds <br /> 1.03 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS <br /> A. Only new materials and equipment shall be incorporated in the work. All materials <br /> and equipment fumished by the Contractor shall be subject to the inspection and <br /> approval of the Engineer. No material shall be delivered to the work without prior <br /> approval of the Engineer. <br /> B. Within 10 days after the effective date of the Agreement, the Contractor shall <br /> submit to the Engineer, data relating to materials and equipment he proposes to <br /> furnish for the work. Such data shall be in sufficient detail to enable the Engineer to <br /> identify the particular product and to form an opinion as to its conformity to the <br /> specifications. The data shall comply with Paragraph 1.07 of this Section. <br /> C. Facilities and labor for handling and inspection of all materials and equipment shall <br /> be fumished by the Contractor.
