SECTION 01701 <br /> CONTRACT CLOSEOUT <br /> PART 1 -GENERAL <br /> 1.01 REQUIREMENTS INCLUDED <br /> A. Comply with requirements stated in Conditions of the Contract and in <br /> Specifications for administrative procedures in closing out the work. <br /> 1.02 RELATED REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. Conditions of the Contract. Fiscal provisions, legal submittals and additional <br /> administrative requirements. <br /> B. Section 01720: Project Record Documents. <br /> 1.03 BENEFICIAL OCCUPANCY <br /> A. When the Owner considers work is substantially complete for beneficial use, he will <br /> submit a letter to the Contractor informing intent to take early possession of the <br /> facility for partial use. The written notice shall describe the Owner's reason for early <br /> beneficial occupancy. <br /> B. The Contractor shall adjust his work schedule to accommodate the Owner's plan to <br /> utilize the facility. The Contractor will continue the work while allowing the Owner <br /> full access and use of the facility. <br /> C. The Contractor shall not request a time extension nor additional costs based upon <br /> the Owner's early occupancy of the site and use of the facilities. All additional costs <br /> associated with the Owner's early occupancy of the site shall be borne by the <br /> Contractor. <br /> 1.04 SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION <br /> A. When the Contractor considers the work is substantially complete, he shall submit <br /> to the Engineer: <br /> 1. A written notice that the work, or designated portion thereof, is substantially <br /> complete. <br /> 2. A list of items to be completed or corrected. <br /> B. Within a reasonable time after receipt of such notice, the Engineer will make an <br /> inspection to determine the status of completion. <br /> C. Should the Engineer determine that the work is not substantially complete: <br /> 1. The Engineer will promptly notify the Contractor in writing, giving the reasons <br /> therefore. <br /> 2. The Contractor shall remedy the deficiencies in the work and send a second <br /> 08/12 01701-1 11-4179 <br />
