1.05 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. Submit, within 30 days after Contract execution, a list of valves to be furnished, <br /> the names of the suppliers and the date of delivery. <br /> B. Complete shop drawings of all valves and appurtenances shall be submitted in <br /> accordance with the requirements of Section 01340. <br /> 1.06 TOOLS <br /> A. Special tools, handles or wrenches, if required for normal operation and <br /> maintenance of the specified valves, shall be supplied with the equipment <br /> furnished. <br /> PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 GENERAL <br /> A. All valves and appurtenances shall be of the size shown on the Drawings and all <br /> similar valves shall be from one manufacturer. <br /> B. Valves and appurtenances shall have the name of the manufacturer and the <br /> working pressure for which they are designed cast in raised letters upon some <br /> appropriate part of the body. <br /> C. All valves shall open left, counter-clockwise. <br /> 2.02 GATE VALVES <br /> A. Exposed gate valves unless otherwise specified or approved, shall be iron body, <br /> bronze mounted, double disc gate valves with flanged ends and conforming to <br /> the AMA Standards Specification for Gate Valves for Ordinary Water Works <br /> Service, Designation C500-80. Exposed valves shall be outside screw and yoke <br /> type. <br /> B. Face to face dimension shall conform to ANSI Standard Face to Face and End to <br /> End Dimensions of Ferrous Valves, (ANSI B16.10) for 125 pound cast-iron <br /> valves. <br /> C. Bronze gate rings shall be fitted into grooves of dovetail or similar shape in the <br /> gates. For grooves or other shapes, the rings shall be firmly attached to the <br /> gates with bronze rivets. <br /> D. Gate valves shall have a resilient rubber seated ring or wedge permanently <br /> bonded to the wedge disc and complying with AWWA C509-80. <br /> E. Stuffing box follower bolts shall be of steel and the nuts shall be of bronze. <br /> F. The design of the valves shall be such as to permit packing the valves without <br /> undue leakage while they are wide open and in service. 0-ring stuffing boxes <br /> may be used. <br /> 08112 15100.2 11-4179 <br />
