<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach |Invitation to Bid No. 17-08-01 18 <br /> <br /> Section 3 <br />Scope of Services / Technical Specifications <br /> <br />3.0 BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City’s fleet consists of approximately 191 cars and light trucks. The goal of the City of Sunny <br />Isles Beach Fleet Department is to ensure their safe and economical operation by having an <br />effective preventative maintenance program in place and providing for general repairs. <br /> <br />The City has established minimum specifications which include special and specific vehicle <br />maintenance requirements to assure the safe and economical operation of city fleet vehicles. The <br />successful repair facility shall possess appropriate facility, equipment, and professional staff with <br />the skills and experience needed to maintain the City’s fleet in accord with Manufacturer’s <br />recommended specifications. The facility shall have the ability to perform quality work, as solely <br />determined by the City of Sunny Isles Beach, qualifying it to maintain the City’s fleet as specified. <br /> <br />The selected repair facility will, from the onset, be held to a very high level of <br />performance and efficiency in maintaining the City’s fleet. The contractor shall furnish all <br />necessary supervision, labor, tools and parts and supplies necessary to provide the service for the <br />City’s fleet in accordance with Manufacturer’s recommendations in order to maintain factory <br />warranties and any extended warranties. <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach Approximate number of vehicles in Fleet by year Make and Model see <br /> Attachment A. <br /> <br />3.1 SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />Preventative Maintenance (PM) - Scheduled inspection of the vehicle based on either time or <br />mileage. PM’s are scheduled for either 3 months or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first. Select <br />vehicles due to their unique service are performed more frequently. A Preventative Maintenance <br />consists of a visual inspection of the vehicle for damage or missing parts, functional testing of <br />components, lubrication, tire rotation, and servicing as needed. The City averages 1,200 PM’s a <br />year. The following should be performed: <br /> <br />Component <br /> <br />Action *reflects additional charge over <br />PM rate <br />Visual inspect vehicle for damage or missing <br />parts <br />Advise accordingly <br />Verify function of dash board warning <br />indicators during prove out (key in crank <br />mode) advise if any warning indicators are <br />continuously on. Record idle miles for Police <br />units <br />Advise accordingly <br /> <br />Check horn & lights for operation. *Repair as needed
