RESOLUTION NO. 2017- 21SZ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN INCREASE IN SPENDING AUTHORITY WITH MIAMI CHRISTMAS LIGHTS TO INSTALL HOLIDAY LIGHTS AND DECORATIONS, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on November 17th, 2016 via Resolution No. 2016-2631 the City Commission approved a three (3) year agreement with Miami Christmas Lights for the installation of holiday lights and decorations at Heritage Park and other related services; and WHEREAS, staff has requested additional lights and decorations from Miami Christmas Lights not included in the agreement; and WHEREAS, the City now wishes to increase the City Manager's spending authority in an amount not to exceed Fifteen thousand Dollars ($15,000.00) with Miami Christmas Lights for Fiscal Year 2017-2018, bringing the total contract amount not to exceed to Two Hundred Ten Thousand Dollars ($210,000.00); and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of an Increase in Spending Authority. The City Commission hereby approves an increase in the City Manager's spending authority, in an amount not to exceed Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00), with Miami Christmas Lights for Fiscal Year 2017- 2018, bringing the total contract amount not to exceed to Two Hundred Ten Thousand Dollars ($210,000.00). Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
