• <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2018 - 2119 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RANKING THE <br /> SUBMITTALS FOR PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL <br /> SERVICES FOR INTERIOR REMODELING AT GOVERNMENT <br /> CENTER LOBBY AND AT GATEWAY PARK FOR INTERNAL <br /> SPACE BUILD-OUT IN RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR <br /> QUALIFICATIONS ("RFQ") NO. 17-12-01 AND AUTHORIZING <br /> THE CITY MANAGER TO BEGIN NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE <br /> TOP RANKED FIRM IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE LAW; <br /> AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND <br /> ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE TOP RANKED <br /> FIRM, PROVIDED SAID AGREEMENT IS FIRST APPROVED AS <br /> TO FORM AND LEGAL SUFFICIENCY BY THE CITY <br /> ATTORNEY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE <br /> CITY ATTORNEY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br /> EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the City is desirous of securing a firm to provide professional architect <br /> services to the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City issued and advertised RFQ No. 17-12-01 Professional Architectural <br /> Services for Interior Remodeling at Government Center Lobby and at Gateway Park for Internal <br /> Space Build-Out, for which three (3) responses were received; and <br /> WHEREAS, after due consideration and evaluation, the City Manager recommends to <br /> the City Commission the ranked firms to perform professional architect services for the City as <br /> follows: <br /> 1) Perkins+Will; <br /> 2) Song & Associates; and, <br /> 3) Wolfberg Alvarez & Partners; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to accept the recommendation of the City <br /> Manager and to authorize the City Manager or his designee to negotiate an agreement with the <br /> top ranked firm of Perkins+Will, and then with the next ranked firms, should negotiations with <br /> Perkins+Will be unsuccessful; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City is authorized to begin negotiating with the first ranked firm of <br /> Perkins+Will, to provide professional architect services to the City, and if the City and <br /> Perkins+Will cannot reach an agreement on a contract, the City reserves the right to terminate <br /> negotiations with Perkins+Will and begin negotiating with the second ranked firm of Song & <br /> Associates, until a contract acceptable to the City has been executed and approved by the City <br /> Commission. If the City is unable to reach an agreement with the second ranked firm of Song & <br /> Associates, the City reserves the right to undertake negotiations with the third ranked firm of <br /> R2018 Award RFQ No 17-12-01 And Auth.CM To Negotiate Agntt.Docx Page 1 of 3 <br />
