Russo, City Manager <br /> FROM: Susan Simpson, Assistant City Manager <br /> DATE: 3/15/2018 <br /> RE: Authorizing an Increase in Spending Authority with <br /> Lukes-Sawgrass Landscaping, Inc. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission approve an amendment <br /> to the agreement with Luke's Landscaping Inc, that increases the funds <br /> available to spend by $425,000, for a total not to exceed amount of <br /> $925,000 for this fiscal year(through July 1, 2018). <br /> REASONS: <br /> The City entered into Agreement Number C1012-1516-119 with Luke's <br /> Landscaping in September 2016 (for Citywide landscaping services). <br /> This agreement provided for a month-to-month extension at the same <br /> rates based on the City's needs and the contractors ability and desire to <br /> provide the services. <br /> The City of Sunny Isles Beach issued Bid Number 17-05-01 for <br /> Citywide Landscaping Services in May 2017, and was in the process of <br /> selecting and awarding the bid in September 2017. However, due to <br /> the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Irma on September 10, <br /> 2017, and new information regarding FEMA requirements for <br /> emergency management services, it was recommended and approved <br /> to defer that award, and exercise the option for a month-to-month <br /> extension. <br /> After Hurricane Irma, and during the process of recovery, new <br /> 58 <br />
