A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br /> BEACH,FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY <br /> OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND JRD AND ASSOCIATES,INC.ATTACHED HERETO <br /> AS EXHIBIT "A", FOR CONSULTATION SERVICES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br /> MANAGER TO TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTION AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO <br /> EFFECTUATE THE RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> ACTION: City Clerk Brown-Morilla read the title and City Manager Jack Neustadt gave a <br /> report. [City Clerk's note: a substitute exhibit A to the resolution was handed out; the lump <br /> sum for the services of Jorge Duyos is S24,000.] <br /> Commissioner Turetsky moved and Commissioner Iglesias seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution. Resolution No. 2000-216 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 9E. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, SETTING A <br /> POLICY FOR THE POSITION OF VICE MAYOR TO PROVIDE FOR A YEARLY <br /> ROTATION IN ORDER THAT EACH MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION MAY HAVE <br /> AN OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE AS VICE MAYOR; PROVIDING THAT NO <br /> COMMISSIONER SHALL BE APPOINTED FOR A SECOND TERM UNTIL EVERY <br /> OTHER COMMISSIONER HAS HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE AS VICE MAYOR; <br /> PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> ACTION: City Clerk Brown-Morilla read the title and City Attorney Lynn Dannheisser gave a <br /> report. <br /> Public Speakers: Victor Zepka; Judge Manuel Ramos; Nadine Letterman; Sam Zyler <br /> Commissioner Iglesias proposed changing the work "shall" to "may" in Section 1. <br /> ["Beginning November, 2000, the Vice Mayor's position may be rotated among the <br /> Commission members."] After extended debate, Commissioner Kauffman withdrew the <br /> proposal. <br /> 9F. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br /> BEACH, FLORIDA, ALLOWING FOR THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR, <br /> RECEIVE AND EXPEND MONIES FROM THE FLORIDA MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT <br /> PREVENTION GRANT PROGRAM. <br /> ACTION: City Clerk Brown-Morilla read the title and Police Lt. Tina Radcliff gave a report. <br /> Commissioner Turetsky moved and Commissioner Kauffman seconded a motion to approve <br /> the resolution.
