How will the determination for bid award be made? Based solely on low bid or based on bid price and <br />qualifications? <br /> <br />Response: Please refer to section 2.5, Method of Award, which includes price, qualifications, <br />references, scheduled work commitment, early completion, etc. <br /> <br /> <br />3. Will bid award be based on the base bid items only or will the alternate items be considered for bid <br />award? <br /> <br />Response: Alternate items will be considered in determination of award. <br /> <br /> <br />4. Is it required that the prime contractor be a certified well contractor? <br /> <br />Response: All well related work shall be performed by a certified well contractor. <br /> <br />5. Since the majority of the alternate items involve work not typically performed by a well contractor, but <br />rather an underground utility or general contractor, would bids be accepted from a qualified utility <br /> <br /> <br />Response: Yes, this would be considered, as long as the General Contractor attended the <br />mandatory pre-bid conference. <br /> <br />6. Grout <br /> <br />Section 01000 Part 1.5 subpart <br />H. Grout 20-lnch Liner: Following liner placement, CONTRACTOR to grout the annular space between <br />the 20-inch diameter liner and the existing 24-inch diameter well casing with neat cement using the <br />"tremie" method. <br /> <br /> <br />Section 03400-Part 3.1 subpart F <br />F.
