Russo, City Manager <br /> FROM: Susan Simpson,Assistant City Manager <br /> DATE: 5/17/2018 <br /> Authorization for the City Manager to Enter into an <br /> RE: Agreement for Disaster Debris Management and <br /> Removal Services <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> This item is presented for your consideration. <br /> REASONS: <br /> The City of Sunny Isles Beach issued Request For Proposal No. 18- <br /> 14-02, Disaster Debris Management and Removal Services to secure <br /> the services of a qualified contractor to manage and remove debris in <br /> the event of a disaster. Five bids were received and the City has <br /> deemed the following two bidders as the most responsive and <br /> responsible of those that submitted a complete bid package: Crowder <br /> Gulf and DRC Emergency. <br /> Based upon our experience with Hurricane Irma, the City intends to <br /> enter into an agreement with the top two contractors as primary and <br /> secondary. <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> These agreements will be activated only in the event of a disaster <br /> which requires these services. <br /> FUNDING SOURCE: <br /> The City maintains an emergency fund that will be used to fulfill this <br /> agreement if needed.
