Ill' [ HEWETT-KIER CONSTRUCTION, INC. GENERAL CONTRACTORS
Master Project Schedule
This schedule uses the same approach as the preliminary time model, identifying construction tasks,
duration and precedence leading to a specific project's completion date. The schedule is a very useful
tool with the following applications:
• A completion date for the project is identified, and the schedule is backed into that
date to ensure contract completion within the required time frame.
• On-going schedule analysis allows our field and management personnel to consider
recommendations to maintain and/or reduce the construction time line.
• The Owner and project team is kept abreast of the scheduled completion date and any
potential causes for delay.
Cash Flow Schedule
41 The cash flow schedule is a derivative of the amount of work to be accomplished in each given
month of the project as detailed in the Master Milestone Schedule. The cost of the work items is
established during the estimating process and when applied to the durations in the schedule, the
system establishes clear projections of billings each month. The software package is capable of
automatically revising the calculations for monthly billing amounts when revisions are made to the
Master Milestone Schedule. In this way cash flow projections remain accurate and up-to-date
throughout the life of the project.
Early Start Schedule
The Master Project Schedule is sorted by Early Start. This schedule is utilized as the overall and
individual activity schedule for the project. By planning activities around the Early Start date,
Hewett-Kier Construction, Inc. is able to meet the overall schedule completion dates. It also allows
use of any built-in float in the event activities don't commence on the Early Start date, thereby
enabling the scheduled completion dates to be maintained.
Responsibility Schedule
The Master Project Schedule is sorted by responsibility so that the focus can be placed on each
entity's scheduled activities and work requirements. Not only is the focus placed on the activities
scheduled start, particular attention and emphasis is placed on the duration of each activity.
® Addressing and concentrating on durations of each activity ensures that the schedule will be met. It
also enables contingencies to be developed in the event completion of an activity in the required time
frame cannot be attained.
