The project will provide much needed improvements to water, sanitary sewer <br />and drainage systems as well as beautification to the corridor. Roadway Improvements include roadway reconstruction, <br />pavement markings and signage, landscaping, roadway elevation and swale harmonization. This ongoing project involves <br />infrastructure and roadway improvements (including reconstruction, concrete valley gutter, sidewalks extension along <br />portions of Sunset Drive, brick paver speed tables, pavement marking and signage, tree planting and driveway and swale <br />harmonization) which, will greatly impact the homeowners and stakeholders who reside on the two island neighborhoods. <br />As part of its very extensive outreach efforts, MRG has proactively communicated the impacts of this project to the <br />stakeholders and continues to distribute project advisories, and staff one-on-one coordination meetings with residents to <br />address their questions and concerns. The purpose of the project was to <br />provide a redundant system for transporting sewage through the City to the County wastewater treatment plant in Virginia <br />Key. MRG handled public information efforts for Public Works, including advisories, a fact sheet, stakeholder meetings, <br />project website updates and media coordination. <br />Year Completed: 2016
