BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (include scope size, and cost)
Ardaman conducted subsurface explorations and geotechnical engineering services during the design phase of the project in 2013
and 2014. Ardaman recommended the support of the two 21 -story residential towers on a mat foundation proportioned for a maximum
allowable bearing stress of 8,000 pounds per square foot following the implementation of the Vibrocompaction deep soil improvement
technique. The subgrade initially consisted of very loose to loose fine sand to depths in excess of 50 feet. These loose soils were
improved using the Vibrocompaction technique in order to allow the high rise residential buildings to be supported on a mat foundation
rather than supporting the buildings on costly foundations. Construction proceeded in 2015 and Ardaman provided additional
geotechnical engineering services with regards to the soil improvement as well as provided quality control testing services during
construction. Due to the success of the project, a third 16 -story tower will be constructed at the project site and Ardaman has competed
the subsurface explorations and geotechnical engineering services for the new structure.
Approximate Fees: $250,000 including construction material testing services
25.
