BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (include scope size, and cost)
Ardaman has provided Geotechnical Engineering and Testing services to the
Port of Palm Beach since the 1980's, including for the Cruise Terminal, the
expansion of Pier #2, the seawalls next to Slip #2, and other projects. In 2006,
Ardaman was awarded with an environmental/testing services contract for the
Port of Palm Beach District. Work performed to date has included Asbestos
Abatement Monitoring for the demolition of the Port Executive Plaza and
other buildings at the port and other projects dealing with groundwater
contamination. Currently, Ardaman is performing a semi-annual storm water
monitoring program satisfying the requirements of the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency's (EPA) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
(NPDES) storm water permit. We are called on to collect sediment samples at depth in the Port's slips for
environmental and geotechnical testing to satisfy the Corps and FDEP
permits before maintenance dredging is conducted. Collection of
sediment samples has been completed either by placing our drill rig on a
barge or by divers. We also completed the environmental assessment
on the area in the vicinity of Slip 3 for the expansion of that slip.
Ardaman remains on-call to the Port of Palm Beach for any
environmental issues that may arise.
Ardaman also provides materials testing services on the Port's projects
including concrete and soil testing, and verification the rip -rap at the
Port satisfied the SFWMD requirements for this material.
25.
