Smith & Associates, Inc. <br />Engineers • Surveyors • Subsurface Utility Engineering • 3D Subsurface Imaging • Utility Coordination <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />NE 174TH STREET ROADWAY <br />INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS <br />Responsibilities: <br />Project Description: <br />The Roadway Improvements Project for NE 174th Street <br />consists of a reconstruction of both the drainage and the <br />road for approximately 0.2 miles from Collins Avenue to <br />North Bay Road. The existing roadway system was failing <br />due to poor soil conditions, a limited drainage system <br />and an undersized outfall. The new roadway incorporated <br />a reconstructed base with geotech fabric to offset the <br />soils. The design also included a new drainage system <br />that meets water quality requirements, site demolition, <br />road regrading, utility relocations, sidewalks and paver <br />walkways, landscaping, curbing, bike paths and parallel <br />parking. The design was completed within two years <br />under budget at a cost of $212,180. Construction of the <br />project was completed in the Spring of 2017 with an <br />estimated cost of $3,682,392. <br />Survey, utility locates, preparation of engineering design and construction plans, stormwater <br />modeling and calculations, cost estimates, contract documents and permitting. <br />Key Personnel: <br />Stephen C.
