YEAR COMPLETEDNE 3rd Avenue and Artists Alley - Streetscape Paving Design; Delray Beach, FL
Delray Beach CRA
CGA has just completed the conceptual design and engineering for an important streetscape branding project in Delray’s CRA. The objective of the design is to serve as a passive drainage strategy, while communicating a strong identity of the Pineapple Grove neighborhood. The streetscape is envisioned as an important component to the revitalization efforts of the area with the future construction of an abutting artist’s incubator facility. The NE 3rd Avenue streetscape & Artist Alley will serve as the venue for future artists events and weekend fairs. The project has completed its public outreach phase and is presently in design development and engineering. It is programmed to be constructed in the first half of 2015.
The project encompasses NE 3rd Avenue between NE 3rd Street and NE 4th Street; NE 3rd Street between NE 2nd Avenue and the railroad tracks; and Artist Alley between NE 3rd Street. The intent of this project is to continue the design aesthetics established for the rest of the public realm areas within the Pineapple Grove District with the goal of promoting the resurgence of an eclectic mix of galleries, restaurants, cafes and boutiques, but with a strong focus on exciting public artwork and working artist galleries and workshops. As an emerging arts area, Artist Alley is made up of an authentic and thriving working colony of accomplished artists collaborating to inspire artistic expression, incubate new artist and create innovative art work.
Timothy T Tack, PEtack@mydelraybeach.com 561.243.7315
Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc.a.Fort Lauderdale, FL Prime - Landscape Architecture, Hardscape Design, Surveying, Civil Engineering, and Electrical Engineering
b.
c.
d.
e.
STANDARD FORM 330 (REV. 8/2016) PAGE 3123
