<br />Mr. Iles is a design engineer with three years of experience in stormwater infrastructure, roadway improvements, water, and wastewater projects in the South Florida area. Specific designs include improvements to stormwater runoff disposal systems in the City of Hallandale Beach, drainage improvements and tidal water impact reduction in the City of Fort Lauderdale, and the design of private stormwater collection and treatment systems for residential and commercial properties.
<br />In addition to design, Mr. Iles’ has obtained a number of drainage permits including Broward County Surface Water Management License, Broward County Environmental Resource Permit, FDEP Class V Drainage Well Permit, FDOT Drainage Permit, U.S. Army Corps of Engineering Navigable Waterway Permit, and more. Matthew’s academic focus includes the use of stormwater treatment methods resilient to sea level rise, with active research being conducted in the use of Electron Magnet Oxygen Hydrogen (EMOH) separation to combat algae growth in municipal treatment ponds.

The scope included a drainage model analysis of the existing site conditions using ICPR and utilizing survey, and record drawings for calibration. Additional analysis included hydraulic modeling of over one-half mile of ductile iron forcemain discharging into seventeen drainage wells.

This project is grant funded and on hold for construction pending adjacent project completion.

<br />Design Engineer for the improvements to Fronton Boulevard in order to upgrade the existing Jai-alai facility to accommodate a casino. Redesign of this City owned roadway was required as part of the developers agreement with the City. Upgrades on Fronton Blvd were accomplished by alignment changes in order to add a median as well an additional southbound lane, new parking for the adjacent park, and two new right turn lanes and entrances to the facility. Design, permitting, and construction services for the improvements as well as new offsite water mains on Fronton Blvd, SR A1A/Dania Beach Blvd and NE 2nd Street; coordination of utilities; and drainage design to accommodate the roadway improvements was performed.
