WHEREAS,no candidate for Commission Seat 02 received more than 50%of the total number of ballots cast to be duly elected to the Commission as required by the City Charter and Section 26- 13 (D)of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,a run-off election will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 to determine a Commissioner for Seat 02; and WHEREAS,the City Commission wishes to declare George"Bud" Scholl as Mayor of Sunny Isles Beach and Jeniffer Viscarra as Commissioner Seat 04. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Acceptance of Unofficial Results of General Election. The City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach hereby accepts the unofficial results of the General Election held on November 8, 2016, pending official certification from the Miami-Dade Canvassing Board, as follows: RESIDENTIAL AREA COMMISSIONER -- SEAT 02, the whole numbers of votes cast was 4,812, of which number: DAVID Y. GROSSMAN received 1,699 votes FELIX KIZHNER received 952 votes ALEX LAMA received 2,163 votes Section 2. Declaring Mayor and Commissioner for Seat 04. The City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach hereby declares George"Bud"Scholl as Mayor of Sunny Isles Beach and Jeniffer Viscarra as Commissioner Seat 04. Section 3. Installation of New Officers. The City Clerk will administer the oath to George "Bud" Scholl as Mayor, and to Jeniffer Viscarra as City Commissioner, and shall enter upon the discharge of their duties,effective thirty(30)days after the General Election,Thursday,December 6, 2018.
