After a basin wide drainage analysis, it was determined that significant improvements to level of service may be achieved by increasing conveyance pipe sizes from adjacent neighborhoods to existing stormwater management system. In addition to pipe upsizing, project includes increasing lake storage by the donation of wetland creation along eastern lake bank, roadway milling and resurfacing and ADA compliance for all surrounding pedestrian sidewalks. Permitting will be completed to both South Florida Water Management District and Central Broward Water Control Districts for modifications to existing drainage permits, with an estimated bid date of November 2016. Anticipated construction costs for drainage improvements are $2.3 million with design fees at approximately $226,000.
Check if project performed with current firmX
2012-2014 01/2015-09/2015
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)
e.
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If applicable)
(2) YEAR COMPLETEDBoca Bath and Tennis Water Main ImprovementsBoca Raton, Florida
Mr. Messick is the direct lead designer of the proposed water main improvements project located in Boca Raton, Florida. This 4,000 linear foot ductile iron pipe replacement project included residential service design, milling and resurfacing of the asphalt along the length of pipe to be replaced. Services provided by James included preparation of construction documents and specifications, permitting to both local health department and utility agencies, bid assistance, and construction management. This project was completed on time and under budget in the summer of 2015. Project was construction for approximately 635,000 with design fees of approximately $103,000.
Check if project performed with current firmX
STANDARD FORM 330 (REV. 8/2016) PAGE 2
01/2013-02/2018 N/A
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)
f.
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If applicable)
(2) YEAR COMPLETEDBid Pack 8Oakland Park, Florida
Engineer of Record for the water and sewer improvements project located within the City of Oakland Park. Design included approximately 18,000 linear feet of water main replacement, rehabilitation of lift station B-1 and installation of 4 sewer combination air valves (SCAV) to alleviate compressed air within the City’s sanitary sewer force main system. The water system upgrades consisted of replacing two (2) and four (4) inch diameter lines with either six (6) or eight (8) inch mains, and additional fire hydrants are spaced to adequately provide water pressure for fire protection of the existing residential neighborhoods. In addition to these water main improvements and SCAV for force main sewer transmission, lift station improvements are a critical component for this project. Lift Station B-1 was experiencing failure due to extended run times because of an increase in the collected wastewater flows and discharge force main pressure, electrical upgrades and the design of a variable frequency drive is included to handle various flow conditions. Project is currently slated for bid in summer of 2016 and construction to commence in early fall 2016. Total anticipated construction costs for this project are 4.7 million with approximate engineering fees of $366,000.
Check if project performed with current firmX
06/2015-02/2017 06/2017-06/2018
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)
g.
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If applicable)
(2) YEAR COMPLETEDSunflower Townhomes Water Main ImprovementsBoca Raton, Florida
Mr. Messick served as the Engineer of Record for the City of Boca Raton Sunflower Townhomes Water Main Improvements project. His oversight of design for the small diameter water main replacement project played an important role, as the use of trenchless technologies will allow the contractor to navigate around heritage landscape trees while not impacting existing parking lot areas. With the use of HDPE and directional drilling, the replacement of approximately 4,500 linear feet of 2” and 4” water mains will be possible within existing utility easements. As this design criteria was established by the City of Boca Raton, Mr. Messick’s insight into this construction practice helped keep construction estimates within City of Boca Raton’s anticipated project budget. Permitting to the Palm Beach County Health Department is currently taking place, and advertisement for bid is anticipated in summer 2016. Total anticipated construction costs for this project are $673,000 with approximate engineering fees of $72,000.
Check if project performed with current firmX
2014-2015 2015-2016
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)
h.
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If applicable)
(2) YEAR COMPLETEDLloyd EstatesOakland Park, Florida
Assisted with the lift station outparcel for an improved stormwater management system to aid in the reduction of flood duration and elevation during storm events within the Lloyd Estates neighborhood. The improvements included a bioswale and typical driveway design. Grant services were provided for this project that resulted in approximately $4 Million of funding from the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. Project was awarded for approximately $7.8 Million and is currently under construction and with professional civil engineering design fees of $888,000.
Check if project performed with current firmX
101
