City of Sunny Isles Beach RFQ No. 18-11-01 | Consulting Engineering Services for Golden ShoresPump Station Rehabilitation (CCNA)
Agency:Address:
Tel:POC:
Term:Role:
City of Dania Beach100 W. Dania Beach BlvdDania Beach, FL 33004954.924.3740Brad KainePublic Services Director2007 - 2014Prime
Meadowbrook Pump Station and Phase I Stormwater Improvements - City of Dania Beach
This project was phase 1 of the implementation of a study area bounded by SE 5th Avenue, Federal Highway (US 1), Sheridan Street and Dania Beach Boulevard, within the City of Dania Beach. Basin 5 encompasses an area of 400± acres and is delineated through the use of the existing basin topography and the stormwater runoff patterns to the ultimate basin outfall known as West Lake Regional Park.
The project rehabilitated the existing building and replaced the existing axial flow pump, which pumps stormwater from a retention lake to the ultimate discharge outfall to the tidally controlled receiving waters. Additionally, replacement of the outfall pipes into the lake, construction of headwalls at each outfall, structural analysis and replacement of the pump station headwall, installation of concrete for the deepening of the lake bottom, and replacement of the existing backflow prevention device at the discharge outfall were part of the improvements.
CGA developed the Stormwater Master Plan for Basin 5 through modeling performed using the Interconnected Channel and Pond Routing (ICPR) software. From the Master Plan, CGA provided the City with a prioritized list of necessary improvements, including projected cost, for inclusion in their Capital Improvement Plan.
147
