RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - = <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE EXPENDITURE OF BUDGETED FUNDS WITH CALVIN, <br />GIORDANO & ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR TEMPORARY CITY ENGINEER AND PLAN <br />REVIEW SERVICES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY-THREE THOUSAND <br />ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-ONE DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($63,131.00); <br />APPROVING A LETTER AGREEMENT WITH CALVIN, GIORDANO & ASSOCIATES, <br />INC. TO PROVIDE GENERAL ENGINEERING BUILDING PLAN REVIEW SERVICES <br />FOR A ONE-YEAR TERM, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-SIX THOUSAND <br />EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY-NINE DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($56,869.00); <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT, AND TO DO <br />ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") requires temporary city engineering <br />and plan review services to ensure continuity of operations and ongoing project support within <br />the Building and Engineering functions; and <br />WHEREAS, in August 2025, the City issued Purchase Order No. 25-02121 to Calvin, <br />Giordano & Associates, Inc. ("CGA") in the amount of $40,000.00 for Temporary City Engineer <br />Services ("Engineer Services"); and <br />WHEREAS, through the date hereof, the total amount billed for services rendered by <br />CGA amounts to $63,131.00, which exceeds the original Purchase Order amount due to <br />additional services necessary to support ongoing operational and plan review needs during the <br />interim period; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to ratify the expenditure of $63,131.00 for <br />services rendered to date; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff further recommends approval of a Letter Agreement with CGA in <br />an additional amount not to exceed Fifty -Six Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty -Nine Dollars and No <br />Cents ($56,869.00) for a one-year term commencing August 1, 2025, for general engineering <br />building plan review services ("Engineering Review Services"); and <br />WHEREAS, said services will provide continued engineering support, including plan <br />review assistance and general engineering building plan review services as needed to -maintain <br />service levels and ensure timely processing of development and permit applications; and <br />WHEREAS, City Commission wishes to ratify the expenditure of budgeted funds for the <br />Engineering Review Services, and approve the Letter Agreement with CGA for the Engineering <br />Review Services, in a total amount not to exceed One Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars and <br />No Cents ($120,000.00). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />@BCL@C4178EF1 Page 1 of 2 884 <br />
