RESOLUTION NO. 2026-� <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF PROCLAMATIONS REQUESTED BY <br />ELECTED OFFICIALS; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO ISSUE THE LISTED <br />PROCLAMATIONS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on May 15, 2025, via Ordinance No. 2025-628, the City Commission of the <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") adopted a policy and procedure requiring Commission <br />approval prior to the issuance of official City proclamations; and <br />WHEREAS, members of the City Commission have requested the issuance of certain <br />proclamations recognizing nationally and internationally designated observances and significant <br />cultural, historical, and humanitarian events; and <br />WHEREAS, such proclamations promote awareness, education, inclusion, and <br />community engagement among the residents of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the proclamations listed herein have been requested by elected officials for <br />issuance during the 2026 calendar year. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval Issuance of Proclamations. The City Commission hereby approves the <br />issuance of the requested proclamations by Elected Officials, as follows: <br />March <br />Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month <br />Women's History Month <br />Autism Acceptance Month <br />Child Abuse Prevention Month <br />April 16 — Education and Sharing Day <br />May <br />Jewish American Heritage Month <br />May 3 through May 4 — Days of Remembrance of Holocaust Victims <br />May 20 —Jewish Solidarity Day <br />May 14— Israel's Independence Day <br />JUN <br />Disability Pride Month <br />@BCL@D416C3D8 Page 1 of 3 973 <br />
