o <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - ` _ J t <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING <br />MAY 2026 AS "NATIONAL LAW MONTH"; PROVIDING FOR AUTHORIZATION; <br />AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") recognizes the importance of <br />fostering respect for the rule of law, encouraging civic participation, and supporting efforts that <br />educate residents about the legal system and the principles upon which our nation was <br />founded;and <br />WHEREAS, National Law Month provides an opportunity to promote public <br />understanding of the legal system, the importance of equal justice under law, and the vital role <br />that courts, attorneys, civic institutions, and engaged residents play in preserving constitutional <br />principles; and <br />WHEREAS, the American Bar Association recognizes Law Day annually on May 1st, and <br />the 2026 Law Day theme, "The Rule of Law and the American Dream," encourages all Americans <br />to reflect on how the rule of law protects individual freedoms and helps make opportunity <br />possible; and <br />WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade Bar Association, together with South Florida's voluntary bar <br />associations and legal community, continues to support programs and initiatives that promote <br />professionalism, access to justice, legal education, and public service throughout Miami -Dade <br />County; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to recognize May 2026, as National Law Month <br />in the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval Issuance of Proclamation. The City Commission hereby approves the <br />issuance of a proclamation recognizing May 2026, as National Law Month in the City of Sunny <br />Isles Beach. <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
